Hi everyone! I’m Joana Bittencourt, Head Chair for the Human Rights Council. I’m a sophomore at PASPOA, and I’m super excited to be part of the Leadership Team for BRAMUN and TBSRJMUN. I started my MUN journey in the 6th grade and I’m so glad to have seen so much in the last 4 years. I love watching delegates grow in confidence through debate and I hope I can do that at this incredible conference. I've always been passionate about human rights and I'm so lucky to be able to be head chair of this committee and bring awareness to such important topics. I'm extremely excited to chair at both BRAMUN and TBSRJMUN because I've not had this experience very often, and I'll be able to grow as a chair and improve for future conferences. More importantly, I am super excited to have the chance to create opportunities for others to share their voices as well as generate essential discourse on overlooked issues. I cannot express how grateful I am to have been selected to head this committee that I have always held so close to my heart. I, along with the 2025 Leadership Team, hope to be able to create the best BRAMUN yet and can't wait for the conference!
Chair Joy Okumu (St. Nicholas)
Hi! My name is Joy Okumu, and I will be a junior at St. Nicholas Alphaville by the time the BRAMUN conference convenes next year. I am excited and honoured to be chairing the Human Rights Council at the upcoming edition of BRAMUN 2024. I have a deep passion for MUN because it has provided me with the opportunity to grow in more ways than I can mention. It hasn't always been easy, but the amazing people I met along the way made it worthwhile. They helped me discover and develop skills that I will carry with me forever. My chairs were outstanding people who pushed me to explore new horizons, and now that I have made it to the same position, I, too, hope to be a pillar of support for you as you further advance in your MUN endeavours. I've always enjoyed discussing human rights-related topics; I find them fascinating and often deeply empathise with the lives of the people affected. In fact, anyone who knows me well enough knows that I become impassioned every time I have a discussion about events, past or present, that have affected humans tremendously. With this in mind, you can only imagine how overjoyed and excited I am to be chairing this Human Rights committee.

Hi delegates! My name is Athina Kissajikian, and I am a junior at St Paul's School. I am extremely excited to be your Human Rights Council chair, which has been my favourite committee for a long time, in this BRAMUN edition. When I first started MUN, I didn’t think it would turn into such a great passion of mine, debating about pressing issues and challenging myself to solve them diplomatically. Along the way, it has been a truly incredible experience. For me, the best part of the conference is the crisis; you never know what to expect, and you have to prepare yourself beforehand as anything can happen. One day you might be following all of the international guidelines correctly, and the next, the whole world knows a different story. Of course, these tense moments during debates also bring many cherishable memories, which you will always remember, and is what I am hoping to create during this conference! MUN is very important to me, and I will never forget how my experience throughout these years has shaped me into who I am today. I wish to share my MUN passion with everyone and be able to help in any way possible! I am looking forward to seeing you all soon!
